Costume List for My Trailers

The costumes I will need for each character are designed to represent their character types to the audience, indicating the archetypal role each plays in the film.

The Jock

The Jock will wear casual clothes, reflecting his sporty nature and his rebellious side. His costume will consist of a black and white 'varsity' jacket, a hoodie, joggers and trainers. At some point in the film he may even wear sunglasses.

The Nerd

The Nerd's defining element of costume will be her glasses, to signify to the audience her intelligence and to create the impression that she will be the one to figure out what is happening and who the killer is. As is typical of this character type in horror films I have also asked the actress to wear her hair up. Her costume will consist of a blouse, a necklace (that will have a specific sentimental meaning to her, and will offer her strength/protection later in the film) and jeans/trousers. She will wear 'sensible' shoes.

The Loner

The Loner will also wear glasses, hinting to the audience that he is also smart, and that he may make it further through th narrative than either the Jock or the Stoner. His costume will consist of a black gilet, black sweater, jeans and trainers (though not as trendy as the Jock's). He will also wear a 'bum-bag' and a lanyard.

The Stoner

The Stoner will be dressed in 'skater' gear, wearing a baseball cap over his long, straggly hair, along with an oversised black hoodie and faded jeans. He will wear Vans skater shoes and a nose-ring. He will be the first to die.

The Teacher

My teacher is unshaven, with a grey beard, to suggest that he is worn down by the students' relentless bad behaviour. I want the audience to believe that there is a possibility that it is the teacher who is the killer, hinted at with the disappearance of his body (which I hoped might plant a seed that his killing has been staged). His costume consists of a checked shirt and jeans.
